Anyone who wants to take yoga classes is welcome. If finances are an issue, please talk to Sharon. ![]() Level 1 These classes are for beginners. Students are introduced to the fundamentals of Iyengar yoga with an emphasis on standing poses, and beginning inversions such as plow, shoulderbalance and downward dog. Level 1-2 This class is for students who have attended a Level 1 class regularly for at least three months and are confident with the standing poses and inversions taught in Level 1. Level 2 These classes are for experienced people who have studied yoga continuously for at least one year. Students are introduced to more complex standing poses as well as to new seated forward bends and twists. They also begin to work with backbends and other inversions including headstand and full arm balance. Therapeutic-All Levels This is a good class for students, young or old, who have chronic pain, injuries, or other special challenges. While all poses are done with support, this is a challenging class which asks students to work to their capacity safely. Students often move on from this class to join a regular class. ![]() Generally, group classes are the best way to learn yoga. However, in certain situations, private classes can be helpful. This is especially true if you are working with an injury or special condition and want to refine your understanding of how to work with your particular situation. Private classes can also be a useful way to develop or refine a home practice. The cost for a private class is $90 per hour. |
