I started taking a weekly yoga class about 18 months ago, and I feel stronger than when I went to the gym. I can tell because my kayak is a lot easier to carry!

My first yoga class was in 1981, and I've stayed interested enough to continue with classes and home practice in Pennsylvania. Yet, I delight in how much I have learned in a brief winter visit from Sharon Conroy at Yoga on 30A. A serious shoulder injury brought me to her therapeutic class. I received individualized attention toward better body alignment. I learned the value of straps, blocks, and bolsters, and I now understand the body-spirit connection more clearly. When "snowbird season" rolls around again, I'll be on the porch of the center, eager to enroll in another session of classes.
