Sharon Conroy has been practicing yoga in the Iyengar tradition since 1986 and is certified at the Junior Intermediate III level. Students describe her as a dynamic and compassionate teacher whose love for this path is evident. In 1989, Sharon opened the first Iyengar Yoga Center in New Orleans and taught there until Katrina. She travels regularly to India to study with the Iyengar family and is a longtime student of Patricia Walden, one Mr. Iyengar's most senior students. In addition to weekly classes, Sharon has a year long teacher training program for beginning teachers preparing for the teacher in training and introductory assessments. And, she also conducts teacher training weekends for certified teachers preparing for the Junior Intermediate I assessment. Elodie Hebert has been practicing yoga in the Iyengar tradition for several years. She is now working towards becoming an Iyengar certified teacher under Sharon's guidance. Elodie also teaches classes in Panama City.
